Feb 12 (Reuters) - Iron-ore train drivers at BHP Group's (BHP) Pilbara operations in Western Australia have voted to strike on Friday in a bid to secure an improved enterprise agreement, the country's Mining and Energy Union said on Monday.

The 24-hour work stoppage could potentially disrupt supply from Western Australia operations to the Australian export hubs of the world's largest miner as the drivers continue their industrial campaign for improved conditions in areas like rostering and accommodation.

"These drivers are simply seeking guaranteed conditions in a range of areas that will make a big difference to them and their families," said Greg Busson, the union's Western Australia secretary.

The union's rail crew members had voted for a protected action last October as well, after which the mining giant replaced the 2014 BHP Billiton Iron Ore Locomotive Drivers Agreement with a new one.

"Pilbara iron ore mine operators have had it their own way for a long time," said Busson, adding that the workers had been "very patient" while giving BHP opportunity to address their concerns.

BHP did not immediately respond to a Reuters' request for comment. Its shares were last down 0.7% to A$45.98.
