Earlier this week, Richard Branson also touched on the point that his new Virgin finance business would offer free flights on the Virgin network to his finance customers. I think the exact quote was "which bank owes an airline".
Whilst we don't know how this would be transacted, It would provide a nice boost to passenger numbers and help VBA value add, i.e here is a free flight (paid for by Virgin finance), now let us (VBA) book the hire car and accommodation for you. It would also help enrollment into the VBA FF program, which Qantas' last profit results show how much a large, well run FF program can add to profits.
I'm holding on to VBA long term.
