It isn't "garbage". They have drilled 8 wells across the Greater Erregulla field. At some point, they are bound to hit the GWC. Geo-modelling is not a precise science after all. We are talking about 4600m below sea level. So they finally found the GWC, but they did find 13m of net pay. Itsjust unfortunate they also penetrated the aquifer which has resulted in water invasion into the wellbore.

I'm far from a geo expert, but IMO, this can be remediated by drilling a sidetrack to a slightly shallower depth with a higher perforation?
