this is excellent news. Optiscan were well on the way about making thee probe smaller a few years back and financial constraints and other priorities meant development had to wait. I think this programme is as much about attaching AI as developing the probe.
Not a small grant and to have Prof Rolf Kiesslich doing the clinical work (a great fan of first generation endomicroscope) I`m sure will be keen to get his hands on the new probe. Regulatory approval should be straight forward compared to Oral Denovo process because Optiscan should be able to use the 510K pathway because Mauna kea`s Cellvizio could be used as predicate device.
