    Tesla have sold close to 5 million cars and there are circa 200 or so fires all have been documented here All Reported Tesla Fires | Tesla Fire (tesla-fire.com). The fire thing is overplayed and quite boring actually. The battery lasts for more than 300,000 miles! Yes miles!

    As for your Amarok sure, it can't do that in a Tesla. But guess what 83% of people live in city or metropolitan areas and drive no more than 50km a day.
    You are not the majority. In the car game it's a numbers game.
