it's more than possible to be socialist style minded AND live the high life

the two are NOT mutually exclusive -

    need refs - Europe.

There are hundreds of thousands of seriously wealthy people - who are very happy to pay what Ozzies would consider as large taxes -------------- to benefit society for all.

It's a chalk and cheese difference to Oz ------ and it's seen no clearer than at the family dinner table - here's how it goes

In Oz - a family of mum, dad and a couple of kids have dinner ---------- mum and dad want their kids educated - why? So they will have better jobs, better money and have a better life --------- and that means that the kids can buy a bigger house in a better place and fill it with lots more totally useless stuff.

In Europe, in many nations -------- a family of mum, dad and a couple of kids have dinner ---------- mum and dad want their kids educated - why? So they will have better jobs, better money and have a better life,
but, what the meaning and reason for it is where it differs - Europeans want that so that their kids will contribute to making a better society for all

so, many are living what you call the 'high life' - but, they are also participating in advancing society - by contributing to socialist style mechanisms --------- social housing, universal medical, FREE education, etc etc.

it's something that non thinking people throw around the term 'socialist' ------- much of what we see done what can be described as socialist ---------- is nothing more than just plain vanilla good ideas -- creating a better society for all

and we'd better get used to it ------- because capitalism etc - has the useby clearly showing on the calendar - so times are changing very rapidly now
