Several media and environmental organizations have obtained access to the authorities' defense letter against Greenland Minerals' parent company Energy Transition Minerals (ETM), which demands an exploitation permit for Kuannersuit - alternatively 80 billion in compensation from Denmark and Greenland.

The pleadings - which, among other things, consist of a statement of complaint from the defendant Danish authorities and a statement of complaint from Naalakkersuisut - explain that an arbitration case is in violation of legal rules in Denmark and Greenland as well as in violation of the dispute resolution clause that appears in the standard terms of the exploration permit,which Greenland Minerals had been notified. Both documents, written by the Attorney General, argue for a rejection of claims from Energy Transition Minerals and a clean acquittal of the Danish authorities and Naalakkersuisut.
