Three years after its demise, the BMW i3 remains a dapper little puddle jumper that isn’t too expensive on the used-car market. Like most luxury cars though, and especially ones from established European marques, it’s not the initial cost but the lurking maintenance expenses that can catch you off guard.
We’ve encountered numerous i3 owners lamenting and reporting that dealerships frequently demand over $30,000 for battery replacements, with one customer allegedly quoted a staggering $71,000.

For those forking out those types of sums for that type of luxury car surely can afford just a 'few' dollars more for a battery pack - hip pocket change.

Leave the luxury to others as having to fork out around $150 for my average get to and back home ICE battery is by contrast a staggeringly smaller figure and more doable - leaves money for petrol fills.

With EV's what's the use of allegedly 'cheaper' charging when one is charged huge amounts for battery replacements?

And as for road use damage:

Not sure why one needs a study as above, as surely one should know the more a vehicle weighs the more the road is subjected to more wear. More reason for increasing vehicle charges - someone has keep refilling the pot to fix the holes.

And as for vehicles such as the cybertruck weighing 7000 pounds - sure will be tearing up the road in more ways than one. AIMO
