What cars are half the weight? Camry or Corolla vs Model 3? It are we comparing a Suzuki ignis to the M3?

Quarter of the damage to the road? I'm assuming that is based on your weight claims.

Refuelling/charging in less time may be a fact but I don't stand by the car waiting for it to fill up. I'm having a coffee with a vanilla slice. A recent 800km trip took 10 minutes longer in an EV than the same ICE trip. Suits me fine.

Rare earth usage is being reduced. Tesla has plans to go rare earth free. But are they really rare?....this sums it up. from Quora

It’s confusing because they are called “rare” but really they are not all that rare. They are only rare compared to other elements. It’s like saying people are rare compared to ants. It’s true, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a huge number of people. The fact they are called rare does not necessarily mean there isn’t enough to go around.

I haven't heard the "less steel" issue before. I find that quite surprising and will look into it. It doesn't make sense to me considering the minimal weight differences between ICE and EV models, especially when factoring in the battery.
