Its not unusual thing with new materials and technologies.

When they first introduced Li batteries on phones and laptops, it sometimes combust.

But we have gone a long way since those days.

Now, they have Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries which are extremely hard to catch fire.

Most new EV cars are using Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries.

There is "improved" safety in the newer Lithium batteries but they still can produce a lithium run a way type fire and if damaged can burn like the earlier lithium batteries
