Both nrl and afl are such different games that it doesn't really matter if nrl is more popular up north and afl south. It just gives everybody a chance at watching two sports instead of one.

I do think the grand final should be extra time. Coming back for a replay defeats the whole purpose of having a grand final in the first place. The game should be decided there and then. The crowd reaction said it all. They wanted a winner (or two) to be declared on the day. Once again everbody has a different opinion on the matter I guess.
