Worked for them for nearly 20 years in the 80's & 90's. Company was then an establishment favourite. They could virtually do no wrong in those days. An absolute awesome company to work for back then. UNTIL a guy named Higgins took over. That IMO was the beginning of the rot setting in. He was unceremoniously put out on gardening leave about half way into his contract.
The company lost its way after founder Dick Dusseldorp's protege Stuart Hornery retired. The culture that Dusseldorp & Hornery established was seen as old fashioned & expensive. Not relevant according to the new breed of financial engineers. But that culture engendered extreme loyalty & created a very solid profitable company.
