A true story ... from the 1950s
Two smartly dressed business men on a train to Wynyard from the leafy North Shore
(In those days it was too hard to park their top of the range ICEs in the city)
Cars were for weekend golf.
One asked :- "Did you watch any TV last night"
2nd Businessman "I don't watch TV"
"The sets are too expensive and TV will never take off"
1st Businessman "Yes ... There will probably never be anything worth watching."
I heard this story much later from a reliable source.
After that train ride they should have checked their 5 year charts of TV Sales
