You’d “lose out” in the short term - Yes the share price would drop lower but it would present an excellent value for money share buy back by the company, push out stale holders trying to get out and temper down the pip traders and manipulators.
In the long term, the share price would track higher and actually move unlike now where it’s permanently depressed and held down
A dividend will not push the share price higher
