I think that there's probably no doubt now that within a decade - vehicle batteries will be no problem with loss of performance in the working lifetime of a vehicle - also fully recyclable and very low fire risk
what will be interesting is to see how the automotive industry builds in planned obsolescence - if it does.
But also - the industry may well be totally different then - there might not be many private buyers around - it may well be all fleet buyers and people will either short term hire - which I think must come whenever self drives take over - and, they WILL take over --
or in the transition period - new business models for car ? usage -------- I hesitate to say 'ownership'
I suspect that 'ownership' - will get a big change in many areas of our lives.
we shall see - either way - the silly discussions on batteries and how crook they are and how they catch fire - will be history
