The operator of the Araxa niobium mine is a Brasilian company called CBMM.

They're owned and controlled by the Moreira Salles family in Brazil with an estimated net worth of $23bn. Also included in the ownership of CBMM are a Chinese and Japanese consortium holding 30% collectively. Somehow, I don't think they need GMN and its $650k in the bank to guide them on mineral exploration technology.
Typically when you discover a mineral resource deposit, you ensure that you secure the adjacent prospective land. The Araxa Niobium mine was discovered in 1953.
