From the Netherlands / HollandThis is what happens when an electric battery catches fire
1-5-2023In an interview with AT5, Bergnet salvage specialist Stephan explained how an immersion container can be used to cool battery packs of electric vehicles. Stephan's answers have been incorporated into this video by AT5 journalist Robin Antonisse.
Dip containers are increasingly needed due to the increase in electric vehicles
With the increasing number of electric cars in Amsterdam, the fire brigade also sees the number of incidents involving batteries in electric vehicles increasing, writes AT5 . If the battery of such a vehicle catches fire, it is sometimes impossible to extinguish the fire with just a fire extinguisher. In those cases, such a car must be placed in an immersion container for days.
If an immersion container is needed, salvage company Bergnet is regularly called in by the fire brigade or insurers to provide assistance.
