Your argument comes down to a prolonged loss of power...really? I live in suburban Brisbane and can't remember the last time I was out of power for more than a couple of hours. You're grasping at straws with the home battery argument.
A few facts to add to the cost comparison:
No FBT when you lease an EV effectively making them tax deductible = depending on your marginal tax rate saving could be in the 30% to 40% range
No need to have solar as several electricity retailers offering 8c per kwh between 12am to 6am
Given a Model Y has an efficiency of 15kwh/100km cost to run is $1.2/100km
But each to their own. happy for you and your ICE vehicle. We love our EV and its economies.
