Unfortunately Si took the same view against the FDA advice, and has ultimately cost lives by doing so and not following FDA guidance and hence no approval. The choice was the moral ground or the advised guidance by the absolute determinator of approval.
The delay now, because of moral grounds, will have cost more lives than the moral argument would have.
