SYR have excess capacity in their 11.25ktpa AAM facility. Tesla has agreed to take 8ktpa of the 11.25ktpa…the additional 17ktpa that Tesla has agreed to purchase is subject to the 45ktpa expansion.
So currently there is 3.25ktpa excess to be offloaded and even more when the expansion goes ahead. SYR could have easily filled Panasonics order and quicker than NVX…so why did they choose NVX and not SYR?
Apparently more offtakes in this quarter…time is ticking.
