Part of the reason is that these Trials can go for up to 6 months,
When previously they only could go for up to 3 months.

This is due to the fact that since the Trial results from 2018,
Further long term toxicology studies have been done.
So this time treatment with BIT 225 can be extended to 6 Months.
Previously it could only go to 3 Months.

It is also because they have taken advice from the FDA for it's Covid Trial,
As well as engaged with potential partners who may have offered suggestions on how they would like to see data presented or other such things.

As BIT stated in previous Announcements:

"All activities have been undertaken with the sole purpose of obtaining convincing data for potential partners and international regulatory agencies, The Company has engaged with both of these audiences throughout the development of the Company’s lead antiviral drug BIT225."
