An interesting observation, Confuzed.
Something for you to think about.
On the assumption that they want to use as much of the existing structures as possible, what do you think about the following?
Upgraded insulators to cope with increased voltage.
Is pole arm insulator distances adequate for the increased voltage.
Are the cables of sufficient current carrying capacity even with increased voltage.
Are the towers strong enough to support any heavier cabling.
Transformers fore and aft.
Maybe a whole new system is required.
How will this all fit into the current grid system, I don't know.
This is all looking too hard for me. Someone with transmission line experience might like to express an opinion.
I don't think that this is a fait a complis by any means. I look forward with interest.
If it doesn't eventuate, it could sink the project.
What do you reckon?
