I've said it on BOE, I'll say it here as well:
the current mess we are in is due to 10 years of non-existent LibNat energy policy (Labor has only been in for 2). Study after study has shown that nuclear in Australia is unaffordable and too slow. Even if we started building a plant tomorrow, we would be waiting 10+ years to get what a 4/5GW powerplant? if you think SMR's are an option you should consider that it even took China 10+ years to build one.
In my opinion, Australia needs to maximise royalties from uranium sales rather than try to build nuclear power plants, we're too late for that.
