I was a regular on this forum a couple of years ago and I found the discussions balanced, insightful and valuable. There was certainly enthusiasm, and why not? It looked like an idea whose time had come - especially when Mayo and the Israeli crowd were showing strong interest. It was - is - a great idea that hasn't worked out for multiple reasons. Your accusations of pumping are completely wrong. All I could see was a bunch of smart people acting in good faith. Dunno - in particular - was a font of sound reasoning.
