Well said.
Cars with $20k battery packs that mean the car is a write off at the end of the batteries short life are about a green as a bush fire. It's as crazy as getting your horse power from a horse that you have to rest and feed overnight. Didn't the industrial revolution put an end to that sort of nonsense.
Fuel cells make sense and until that technology is accepted as the norm and you can dump liquid fuel into the tank at a servo electric power for cars doesn't make sense.
Not so for two wheelers for the daily commute.
My tip is that The ICE industry together with the fuel distribution industry will extend the life of those industries by continuing the drive to reduce emissions and will likely come up with a green fuel. Maybe something akin to the quick growing plant based product where the growing consumes more CO2 than the burning in your chosen V8 burbler produces that steel producers are working on..
Interesting times ahead.
Meanwhile CO2 emitting vehicles will likely be banned from inner city high population areas for health reasons and an investment in VMT will exceed @klussken's wildest predictions.
Enough of the rant back to the salt mines.
