SQM lithium producer signals price rout has ended (copyright link)
The boss of the world’s second-largest lithium producer, Chile’s SQM, says the price of the battery metal will likely lift in the second half of the year, underscoring investor bets that the lithium price rout has ended.Ricardo Ramos, the chief executive of Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile (SQM), which runs a lithium business with Wesfarmers in Western Australia, says demand for the electric vehicle battery metal could rise by 20 per cent over the year.
