Australia is part of the world, and we are certainly not embracing nuclear. We are the lucky country!

- Managing waste is an open-ended cost which needs to be taken into account.
- Safety is always an issue as Fukushima demonstrated.
- The more widespread nuclear becomes, the greater the probability it will be managed by incompetent/corrupt/dysfunctional administrators, both public AND private. It transcends the labor vs capital divide, neither side can be trusted with it.
-It's expensive and, like coal, will not be viable in the energy market
- It's not magic, there are limits to how much energy you can get from those radioactive minerals. As a partisan argument, nuclear is indistinguishable from magic. Certain commentators like to utter magic words on their silly ranting TV programs I'm told.
