The poster said I've had "lots" of big losses. $200k was my biggest loss shorting and my next biggest loss shorting is around $20k. Considering the size of my portfolio, $20k is peanuts. You can't get every trade right and I'm happy to admit I don't. But "lots of big losses" is factually incorrect.
People also like to think that 20% of PLS shorts need to cover. The reality is that a lot of those shorts are hedging their long positions, so they are net neutral. This is a tax effective strategy.
