I had a friend look at the FBR patent. The general comment is that they are being too specific on the applications. In general, you want your patent to be as broad as possible but not too broad. Being specific, in this case, also means people can read them and have a general idea of how it works. This can also mean potentially they can figure another way around the patent and patent their own method themselves and FBR won't have much claim on them.
I really hope FBR, especially Johnathan look at this issue carefully. You want your patents to be specific, yes, but also, you dont' want to be too specific that your competitor might actually gleam ways to work around it.
I have faith in management.
