While all the rest of us are stressing I wonder if this first offer is just a big joke. RG maybe never even intended for it to be successful but just put it out there to see if any shareholders would bite. Maybe he always intended the real takeover offer to come later. In the meantime he’s been able to acquire a lot of shares at a bargain price that may not have been possible otherwise. As one of Australia’s richest men I don’t think that RG would be too worried about the situation. I think he has the funds to eventually get what he wants
