Scott, I gave North Korea as perhaps the closest thing to pure socialism, not capitalism.
Imprisoning people for their views isn't a marker of Communism or Capitalism. Consider 1700 Britain, the capitalism of Hume, people were imprisoned for criticising King or Church. In the USSR or Mao's China people were imprisoned for criticising the regime.
In my view Capitalism and Socialism are differentiated by the degree to which the government intervenes in the market. With enough government intervention comes poverty and people fleeing.
