I grew up in the 60s and 70s.
I accepted the idea that racism is bad and all people are really the same. We were told colour is only skin deep, most of our DNA is the same, no problem with intermarriage. We sang of "coffee coloured people by the score".
Decades later discrimination has swung from favouring whites to favouring dark coloured people (not Indians or Asians). Those who were discriminated against now want to be seen as permanently different.
Do we want all people treated the same or not?
