hardly a fair comparison to today's landlords of whom are mostly mom and pop investors, which are subject to the whims of the market and bank interest rates. They are not the aristocracy of 180 years ago or the greedy corporations of today. That said, if one wants to blame anyone in a similar vein, then look at the unempathetic Liberal government of the past decade that shifted the responsibility of public housing to the private sector and the volatile vagaries of the market. What could go wrong.
