Ok so maybe T2D was a bad example.
But my point was in relation to this statement
"f the shareholders were to give me $200m I could spend it all without any issue (on research, not just a Gulfstream). In the absence of this sort of money we need to make hard choices and leave some areas of research for later."
Surely at some point rather than having to make a hard decision as you mentioned , you could instead look at licensing it out ?
