The cutoff date for submissions relating to the proposed new vehicle fuel efficiency standards has just passed.
We'll have to wait and see if the Government has listened to industry concerns.
One being that they want the transition period to be longer.
Another that those vehicles designated as passenger cars that share the same chassis and drivetrain as utility type vehicles that tradies use are treated as commercial type vehicles so have less stringent efficiency requirements, like what applies in the USA.
