The longer players wait, the more expensive it must become.
The problem is MinRes balance sheet stretched and they won’t use paper, and PLS board a bit too conservative.
SQM have a genuine appetite for more Aussie mines according to their CEO … and I wonder if they could consider a joint bid with Wesfarmers and/or Gina?
Albermarle would need a bidding partner to operate
I still think Gina may end up bidding for 100% and get MinRes to build the mine and provide the ongoing mining services and marketing.
Nobody now knows more about the hard rock lithium mining and processing business in Australia than MinRes. They could build it quicker, cheaper and are right on top of processing alternatives and challenges.
