The point is not to say that anyone is completely clean in life regarding these sorts of statements. The point is Sam as a public figure needs to be held account to the same standard imposed on others. How many people have been hounded/cancelled for supposed racist comments towards public people of colour - why shouldn't Sam face the same wrath? Just because she is a person of colour making the comments to a white person does not make it right.
Quite frankly most of these racist houndings/cancellations have gone too far - but until society hardens up then people like Sam should be treated exactly the same. It is only when this lw crap is felt equally on all that a reasonable middle ground will be found.
