Pretty sure I recall Dr Rowe saying a 50% slowing in disease progression equates to a four-fold extension of life expectancy, which is a little bit mind blowing. It'd be interesting to see what would happen if the medication was stopped, when rapamycin was ceased after a month in the Ike the mouse study the benefits continued. Although, if I were a trial participant I'd be about as open to stopping as I would be to dancing bare arsed in a bum rape factory.
