I bought a spare wheel from a wrecker for my Mustang GT. Front and back wheels are different width so new front spare can only be used temporarily on the rear. Wider rear wheels would foul on the mudguard if used in front. So the genuine spare can only be used temporarily. Also reduces boot storage as even the front wheel is wider than the depth of the spare wheel well. Had to build up the wheel well with 90x50mm timber lined with carpet. Still better than squirting goo into punctured tyre and writing it off. Also offers an alternative if a tyre gets shredded or ruptured and can't be reused. Towies are aware of our predicament and extort drivers if the car has to be towed. Nobody wants to leave a 100k vehicle on the side of the road while they go and fetch a new tyre. Cost $400 that would otherwise have been spent on PLS shares.
