1 The nuclear debate has got off to a predictable start
In recent weeks, the nuclear debate has cemented itself in the mainstream.
The coalition is indicating that next election they will have a policy which will propose using 6 retiring coal fired power station sites for future nuclear power stations using both large nuclear reactors and small modular reactors.
In response, the government led by Chris Bowen and the Prime Minister have launched a coordinated and strategic scare campaign against nuclear power.
In decades past, we have had similar opportunities. Yet, all previous efforts to have a rational nuclear debate have so far failed.
This could be our last opportunity to have a rational, fact-based debate on the merits of nuclear power.
With your support Nuclear for Australia has already become the LARGEST movement in Australia's history for nuclear power.
We have the momentum and ability to fundamentally change the debate.
In order to win this fight, our focus will be on fighting for the bans on nuclear power to be lifted across.
It is impossible for politicians to justify why a nation like Australia would have one of the most hostile policies towards nuclear power in the world.
At very least, we must be able to consider nuclear power as part of our future energy mix.
In order to win this fight we need your help. Please make a pledge to support Nuclear for Australia using the link below. (We will be able to accept donations in the coming weeks and will reach out to you with confirmation if you've made a pledge).
