Before I start giving it more credence , I would like him to get his actual numbers and description right first but . He says at 51 minute , 50 second mark in Lithium Ion rock interview , “ this is lithium chloride in …… um …. you know …. it’s 6% concentration in brine. It’s basically salt water “ . This is just factually incorrect .on what Galan is selling . Anyone who doesn’t believe me, I more than welcome you to go and recheck what he actually said but my transcribing of it is correct,
No it’s not actually 6% lithium chloride in brine , it’s actually 100% lithium chloride. Alternatively if he means lithium oxide equivalent, which is the spodumene standard its about 13% LiO2, so about 240% more concentrated than spodumene , hence why people refer to idea of liquid spodumene. Something much easier to ship and refine than hard rock spodumene .
He then goes on to says it’s basically salt water . For the record saltwater has a lithium ppm of 0.1 to 0.2 ppm . Hence chloride at 6% lithium will have a concentration of around of 300,000 times that of salt water . Yer just like salt water ….. curiously he preface his statements by saying there is some fundamental misunderstandings out there on chloride . Mmmm here’s looking at you Paul Graves .
