CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER APPOINTED
TO LEAD AND GROW NORTH AMERICA BUSINESS
Transol Corporation Ltd (Transol) today announced the appointment of Mr David Cochrane as Chief
Operating Officer of the Transol Group’s North American operations. Mr Cochrane will be responsible for
the operational and sales performance of the company’s core USA operation, Transol USA Inc. and will also
manage Transol’s expansion into Canada. He will commence with Transol on 1 December 2004.
Transol’s Board of Directors believe Mr Cochrane’s strategic and directly relevant management skills
substantially strengthen Transol’s ability to grow its business in North America. His appointment follows
Transol’s agreement with Rentworks for a A$15million funding facility sufficient to install 100 red light
camera sites.
David Cochrane will join Transol direct from ACS (Affiliated Computer Services) Public Sector Solutions
Inc. where he was Controller, Canadian Operations, responsible for managing and providing strategic
direction for all areas within the accounting function including the establishment and maintenance of
the Canadian division’s accounting principles, practices and procedures. ACS is the largest operator of
photo enforcement contracts in North America.
Mr Rob Ciolli, Managing Director, Transol, said “Transol is delighted that David Cochrane has agreed to join
the company at this exciting stage in its development. He is known to be an outstanding photo enforcement
industry performer and brings proven program operating experience, considerable financial management
expertise and contract negotiation and execution skills to Transol.”
Between 2000 and 2003, Mr Cochrane was ACS Program Manager, Ontario Region, responsible for
developing, implementing, and maintaining the Province of Ontario’s Red Light Camera program including
managing day-to-day requirements of its six senior client stakeholders (the cities of Toronto, Ottawa,
Hamilton and the Regional Municipalities of Peel, Halton, and Waterloo).
Mr Cochrane executed the successful ‘proof of concept’ program that resulted in award of the Ontario
contract to ACS (then Lockheed Martin IMS) and was responsible for developing, implementing and
managing that program’s operations. He also implemented the Province of British Columbia, Canada’s Red
Light Camera program in 1999.
David Cochrane holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Certified Management Accountant
(CMA), Society of Management Accountants of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta.
Transol’s fully owned subsidiary, Transol USA Inc. is contracted to operate turnkey photo red light
enforcement programs by eight USA cities across the states of California, Colorado, Georgia and Iowa. The
