On reading the post's headline, my spirits temporarily lifted, would Wilton Park rise from the ashes to process Peak's ore? Reading further, gloom was restored. However, buying the freehold at £125,000 (240,000 AUD) was probably a sensible move under the present circumstances.
The price of freehold land on Teeside appears to be dictated on plot size, the larger the plot, the cheaper the land per hectare. Looking at smaller plots, prices seem to be between 300,000 AUD to twice that per hectare, so a freehold plot of 30 hectares might be reckoned to be worth 9 - 18m AUD.
That being said, the commercial property market in the UK is in the doldrums at the moment, so unless they have a buyer lined up, it might prove to be a longish wait for any cash to materialise.
With regard to Shenge's involvement in Peak, I have no further comment to make, I have made my position clear in previous posts, and don't expect much change for the foreseeable future.
