If they didn't like what was there, they would have sold 100% of Storm. Instead, they entered into an agreement with AW1 for 80% which meant that AB didn't have to spend a cent on exploration. Deals like this are done all the time due to lack of funds for exploration costs.
And like most exploration companies, they prefer not to have all their eggs in the one basket. AW1 are no different in that sense.
