Casually scanning Google on northern UK shale gas and saw that Britain's major science body a while believed there could be almost as much gas in under Lancashire and environs as the North Urals. The N.Yurals is huge. Totally huge, 12 X 150 trillion fields. The UK govt obviously told them to shut it and radically downgrade estimates. Sadly in science these days it is commonly he who pays the piper calls the tune.
