It depends on the term of the takeover. Normally, you are offered either a cash price for your shares (say 1c per share) or a script offer (say 1 share in takeover company for each HAW share you own) or a combination of cash and script. Alternatively, you can just sell your shares on market after the takeover is announced but before it takes effect.
