One can see this argument play out almost every day on the HC political thread: the hard Right fossils (often squirrely Trump supporters) trying to convince everyone that charging an EV from one's roof solar is impossible , while purposefully forgetting that the average daily journey is circa <40kms and one's EV only requires a top-up from one's roof - for free , and well within the limits of one's solar system. And while longer journeys are a different dynamic, in most cases very few people can tolerate driving more than circa 500kms in one day and an overnight camp at Uncle Joe's or a motel offer a power point to recharge while one sleeps. Notwithstanding the growth of public chargers as the EV take-up expands.
