Okay they aren’t rising far enough, I suppose that’s plausible.
However most of these Island’s are not just maintaining their heads above the Ocean but they’re growing.
If you feel like doing a bit of research you just may find a few Islands have disappeared or been drastically reduced in size but you will find that these few islands have one thing in common.
They have anthropogenic issues related to their coral reefs but the scientific research points to dredging, blasting and the use of toxins as being the primary culprit for coral reef’s decline.
So your point of difference to “the bender’s” opinion is that the ocean level is rising but just not as quickly as we may have been expecting as opposed to him expecting it to rise at some point in the future.
Both of you appear to want to ignore the Elephant in the Room, though.
The majority of coral islands are growing because their coral reef systems are very healthy and not dying due to MMCC.
