    Sure. Below are a few references to get you started on that research. Put basically “lithium-ion” batteries (as used in many media stories) are not the same as LFP, NMC or other lithium chemistry based batteries. Generally “lithium- ion” refers to very high energy density chemistries with usually attractive properties like faster recharge or higher current output but the trade off is usually more volatile chemistry which if handled incorrectly (eg charged too far or too fast) can cause “heat” issues. They all contain lithium and yes at a basic chemistry level all are batteries with lithium and other ions … but “lithium-ion” has specific meaning. Sometimes they are called “lithium-ion polymer” batteries (which yes also has potential to confuse at a chemistry level).

    The point I was making in the comments above was that yes fires are happening with batteries … but that doesn’t mean a likely end to battery demand - just a shift in battery chemistry to address those issues. (Although I’d like to see the details of each fire situation to know if it was a chemistry issue or something like using the wrong charger with the battery, or battery abuse prior to further charging.
