Coppers set for a roll.
Sth Korea likely to kill a loophole that has allowed 650kt of copper scrap to DEC.be sold to China without or bypassing local taxes.
Some even exported as scrap steel.
It has affected Korean local brass component manufacturers main source of supply many of which are going out of business as a result.
Copper and Zinc = shell cases in a world increasingly war minded.
Bullets also need a bit of lead as a projectile.
We are unlikely to see any recycling from battlefields of these materials for some time,so 2000 western shells a day in Ukraine plus bullets on a one way trip and a world intent on making more quickly.
DYOR + DYODD re Some Missing Copper stocks in China warehouses that helped encourage prices down but now don't exist.Maybe some Overplaying of hands killing the goose your trying to buy cheap eggs from.,when mines actually shut down?
Nothing like shooting yourself in the foot.e.g.China with Coking coal(50 boats stuck in harbours for 2yrs that China actually needed to be sailing to bring in more imports, cumulative impact causing winter power blackouts as not enough coal boats available to replace them.
Now with IO needing an extra 52 Cape size boats in addition to the existing fleet to transport the 120mt of ore they are trying to displace from Australia to force IO prices down with. BHP and RIO shaking in their boots - NOT.
Extra Freight costs will be more than it costs these producers to load a ton of Iron ore.
Didn't work with Vale either when they tampered with Valemax boat use.
